CoronaVirus COVID19 Update:

Please read this message entirely.

If you do not have an appointment please do not make a personal visit to the office. 

We reopened since June 8th for regular cleanings, and treatment.

Our office is constantly monitoring the COVID-19 situation and how it pertains to dental offices, our community, and your care.

We have been monitoring COVID-19 since it first appeared in China, and we have been preparing for how it could affect your care and our community for a number of months now, not just recently. While we are following ADA, CDC, and state health guidelines, we have also gone beyond these guidelines to ensure the safety of our patients, staff, and community.

How does this affect your visit?

We are reaching out to all patients with confirmed appointments to pre-screen any issues in advance of patients coming to the office.

We are requesting that any patient with any signs/symptoms of cold/flu/covid, to not attend the office, and call us to discuss in advance over the phone (or via email). Or if you have been around any Covid positive or Covid suspect patients please do not come to the office. 

Symptoms include, but are not limited to, fever/chills, cough, sore throat, sneezing, gastrointestinal upset, or fatigue.

Do not visit our office if you have any of these symptoms.

Simply call or email us to discuss. In addition, if you have these symptoms you need to self isolate with these symptoms and contact your physicians office, by telephone, for further medical advice.

Any patient with these symptoms we are asking to stay away for 4 weeks. If you have been confirmed as having COVID-19, or being around a known COVID infected person, please advise our office, again, by phone or email, not in person.

If you have been to a 'hot-spot' affected region, or associated with anyone with COVID-19, or have travelled recently, you need to address this with our office in advance of your visit by telephone.

Your visit:

You will be pre-screened by telephone, expect a text message or email, and also at check in at the front desk. We are also advising that patients wait in their car, or take a seat outside until their appointment time rather than coming in to the waiting room in order to avoid close contact with other patients. You can call us to advise us you are outside and we will let you know how to proceed. You can also sit outside to avoid others and feel free to enjoy the outside gardens. 

Additional Precautions:

Once in the clinic while we are following the advise of the CDC, ADA, etc we are also taking extra precautions for your safety. These include:

  • Each patient will have their temperature taken with a disposable thermometer. If you have a fever, you will NOT be seen. This is to ensure the safety of our patients, staff and community. 

  • Please wear a mask to the office, and keep it in place until instructed to remove it, once finished please put your mask back on. 

  • Each patient will rinse with 1% hydrogen peroxide for 1 minute prior to being seen, this has been shown to be effective against Coronavirus.

  • Procedures will be carried out minimizing or eliminating aerosol production.

  • We are are disinfecting the door handles and anything touched, per each patient visit.

  • We ask patients not to congregate at the front desk or interact with other patients and maintain a safe distance as they would otherwise in public. 

  • Please do not bring others with you for your appointment.

  • All toys, magazines, newspapers etc, have been removed from the waiting area.

  • Staff themselves are also being screened prior to coming to the office, and while at the office, before seeing patients.

  • Our staff will be wearing N95 respirators, or respirators with 99.97% filtration. Again, much higher standards than what is recommended, for all procedures. 

  • We have invested in the installation of a HVAC system which hospitals use, which uses a ionizing UV device to kill and remove airborne bacteria and viruses from the air. This system can ionize airborne particles which are then removed more efficiently with a polarizing filter. 

  • Payments will need to be made at your visit with your clinical staff while in the chair. If you wish to pay by check or cash please bring this with you and leave with your clinical staff member.

  • All administrative work will be completed remotely at this time. Any insurance questions, need to be addressed by your insurer, whom you would need to address those questions to. 

  • Please email us in advance copies of any new insurance cards etc so we can update your account and bill the relevant insurer under the correct plan ID number.

These measures, go above and beyond what is recommended and what you would experience going to a doctors office, or hospital or even a store. But let me assure you our whole team is alert to the situation and we have been for some time. We are a small office, our staff are now, and always have been, trained to a very high standard of care. We deal with serious diseases and infections every day, not just recently but we are focused on helping the community efforts against COVID-19. 

Lastly, the best way to prepare for this outside our office, is to follow the state and CDC guidelines, wash wash wash.... your hands with plenty of soap and water for 30 seconds, we cant stress this enough. Minimize social interactions. Avoid crowded situations, get plenty of sleep and fluids, and avoid touching your face, mouth, and eyes. Wear an N95 mask, when in proximity to people.

ABOUT US

We are a dental practice located in downtown historic Concord Massachusetts. The practice has been in place since 1944, offering premier dental services to our patients. 

We offer dental services from routine dental examinations and hygiene visits, through a full range of simple to complex restorative, prosthodontic, and cosmetic treatment solutions. We also offer Invisalign, a clear brace orthodontic solution to help fix crowded or badly positioned teeth to give you a better smile, and improve your oral hygiene. 

The practice is equipped with the latest in digital x-rays, dental software, intra-oral camera's, and electric dental drills for a more relaxing, quieter, dental experience. Parking is available at our practice, and we are also located adjacent from Concord Commuter Rail Station.

 

We welcome new patients, and can offer a second opinion if needed. 

Our practice is open Monday through Thursday from 8am to 5pm, and Friday by appointment only. We also have a board certified periodontist (gum specialist) at the practice treating gum disease, and placing dental implants. 

COVID-19 and Infection Control

Please see our pop up message with all details regarding COVID-19 precautions. Our staff are fitted with PPE which have up to 99.97% filtration which are much higher standards than that recommended by the American Dental Association, OSHA, and the Mass Dental Society. 

In addition, the office has invested in an air treatment system which helps remove viruses, bacteria, pollen, and dust from the clinical air. These are similar to systems installed in hospitals. This air passes through a polarized custom filter to help remove these charged particles, while at the same time treating the fresh air coming back out with UV light, and ionized particles to again destroy viruses, bacteria, and pollen in the air.

We have also invested in practice software to allow our administrative staff to work remotely and make your dental experience as streamlined, safe, and efficient as possible by completely eliminating the need to visit the front desk in the traditional fashion. We also provide medical history forms along with other administrative forms electronically, including via text message.

OUR DENTISTS

Dr. John Madden
DMD, BA. BDentSc. BS. 

Dentist

Dr. Madden has extensive training in Prosthodontics and General Dentistry. He has been trained both in Europe and the United States. He obtained his DMD from Tufts University, and obtained additional post-graduate training in prosthodontics and cosmetic dentistry at Harvard University's School of Dental Medicine. 

 

Dr. Madden's main area of interest is in restoring crowns, bridges, implant restorations, aesthetic/cosmetic dentistry. He has a detailed knowledge in restoring your teeth whether you opt for removable or fixed dental prostheses. He is currently an Assistant Professor teaching at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he has been teaching for the past several years.

Dr. Madden has previously served on the Executive Board of Tufts Dental School as well as being on the admissions committee. Dr Madden was also appointed by the Dean of Tufts Dental School as the Chairman of Tufts Faculty practice. 

Dr. Madden works closely with our in-house periodontist as well as a select group of local dental specialists depending on your need.

Dr. Robert Gyurko
DMD. PhD. 

Periodontist

Dr. Gyurko earned his DMD at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Dr Gyurko has also received a PhD in Physiology from the University of Florida where he studied gene therapy. 
He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Periodontology at Tufts. Dr Gyurko is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. 
Dr Gyurko's expertise includes non-surgical and surgical treatment of gum disease and implant placement. He has numerous scientific publications in his field and has lectured both nationally and internationally.
